At the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, one of the world's most important whale habitats designated to protect the endangered humpback whale, tourists can learn about the marine life in the Hawaiian Islands. The sanctuary also hosts an impressive variety of marine animals, corals and plants that can be found nowhere else on Earth.
If you love to go shopping you can visit the Azeka Place 1 at 1280 S Kihei Rd, Azeka Place 2, opposite, Pi'ilani Village Shopping Center, not far away on the upper highway and Kukui Mall, opposite Kalama Park(with a four-screen movie theater and some takeout eateries).

The water sports lovers can rent a boat at Kihei Canoe Club and participate at a canoe racing championship. In close proximity to the club tourists can see green sea turtles (honu) or dolphins and whales. From the Kamaole Beach you can admire great views of the West Maui Mountains, Haleakala, and across pristine Maalaea Bay, the islands of Kahoolawe and Molokini.
